Obituary

BLANCA M. NORIEGA
August 9, 1928 – January 20, 2021
New Windsor, NY

Blanca M. Noriega, of New Windsor, NY entered into eternal rest on January 20, 2021 at Wingate at Dutchess, Fishkill, NY. She was 92 years old.

The daughter of the late Rafael Noriega Martinez and Maria Noriega de Padro, Blanca was born on August 9, 1928 in Torrecillas, Morovis, Puerto Rico.

Blanca retired from SUNY New Paltz in New Paltz, NY as the Head Custodian at the Faculty Tower.

Blanca was an active member of the Solid Rock Church in New Windsor, NY. She loved serving her brothers and sisters in Christ!

A family statement reads: “Blanca was a wonderful Mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. She took great pride in her family. She was a selfless, generous, loving, caring woman. She was a hardworking woman who was loved and appreciated by all her family and friends. “Granny” as she was lovingly called, was the epitome of unconditional love.

Granny enjoyed her coffee! She was a great chef and was always content to feed anyone who stopped by for a visit! She had a wonderful sense of humor and was a creative storyteller. We always laughed so hard with her. Granny was an avid NY Yankee fan since the days of Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, etc.

Her beautiful smile, strong hugs and her love made you feel that you were genuinely loved! She will be missed greatly.

Blanca is survived by her daughter, Elaine Stimpson and her husband Thomas, of New Windsor, NY, her grand-daughter Melissa Houde and her husband William, of Colorado Springs, CO, her grandson Thomas (TJ) Stimpson and his wife Jacklyn of New Windsor, NY and her two great-grandchildren, Logan Thomas Stimpson and Emilia Grace Stimpson.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 3PM to 5PM on Wednesday, January 27th at Solid Rock Church, 20 Holloran Road, New Windsor, NY. Due to the continued public health concerns of covid-19, please know that there is an occupancy limitation. Facial coverings must be worn in the church, at all times.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Solid Rock Women’s Ministries’ Benevolence Ministry, 20 Holloran Road, New Windsor, NY. 12553.

Hay mi titi Blanquita how much I have missed you.I remember how she would visit me while I was growing up in Puerto Rico.I looked forward for her bedtime stories as she would comfort me because I was afraid to sleep alone, she would tell me in the sweetest voice*Don’t worry my Barbie I am here, nothing to be afraid of*I would cry for days when she had to leave back home.Blanca was the best aunt someone could ever have,I was blessed to have her in my life.A beautiful human being and not because she was my aunt I state this but because she was humble and loved everyone no matter how ill they treated her,I admired her.It hurts that I couldn’t say goodbye,I love you.Heaven now has another angel.Rest in peace and in God’s loving arms with your sister,my guardian angel my mom Sarito.
