July 21, 1942 – October 12, 2017
Rock Tavern, NY

Larry Joseph Woodruff of Rock Tavern, NY, 75 years of age, entered into eternal rest with his loving family at his side on October 12, 2017 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY after enduring a 12 year battle with lymphoma.

The son of the late Harry Woodruff and Evelyn (Diller) Woodruff, Larry was born on July 21, 1942 in Cornwall, NY.

Larry was a retired Bus Driver for the Military Academy at the West Point Motor Pool. He honorably and proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy.

Larry is survived by his devoted wife, Heather J. Woodruff at home; his sons: Brian J. Woodruff and Robert J. Woodruff; his daughters: Deborah A. Toce, son-in-law Kevin Toce and Sheryl L. Woodruff and her companion, Rob Trenchard; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Larry was predeceased by his sisters: Mary Deakins, Kathleen Miles and Grace Bulson.

Larry was a very loving and caring man who was always there to lend a helping hand to family and friends alike. He will be missed greatly.

The family would especially like to thank Dr. Robert Dinsmore of Crystal Run Healthcare and his wonderful staff for providing the highest level of care for Larry during his 12 year illness and acknowledge that it was this care that enabled Larry to continue to be with his loving family.


A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, October 16th at the Orange County Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 111Craigville Road, Goshen, NY.

Memorial Contributions in Larry’s name may be made to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 3 International Drive, Suite 200, Rye Brook, NY 10573.
