Obituary for Rosalia C. Manapat

ROSALIA C. MANAPAT

Rosalia C. Manapat, of New Windsor, NY entered into eternal rest on June 21, 2022 at White Plains Hospital in White Plains, NY, surrounded by her loving family. She was 77 years old.

The daughter of the late Antonio dela Cruz and Olympia (Manuel) dela Cruz, “Rose” was born on November 22, 1944 in Paniqui, Tarlac, Philippines. She graduated with a BA from the University of the East in 1969 and later received her MBA from Iona College in 1986.

Rose was a retired Director of Disbursements for CBS New York in New York City, NY, where she worked for 18 years. She loved traveling, crocheting, reading romance novels, gardening, cooking, and hosting parties. She was a devout Catholic and attended church regularly.

A family statement reads: “Our mother was a strong and independent woman. She left the Philippines to create a beautiful life in America. It was both our parents love, determination, and dedication that gave us the opportunity to prosper and grow. She was the glue that held our family together and the rock that kept us strong. Her resilience made her an inspiration and a role model for all future generations to come. She will be missed greatly and her memory shall forever live in our hearts.”

Rose is survived by her loving husband of 56 years: Danilo M. Manapat at home; her daughter: Danielle C. Manapat of Forest Hills, NY; her sons: Nathaniel C. Manapat of South Pasadena, FL and David C. Manapat of New Windsor, NY, as well as several grandchildren and a great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, Rosalia was predeceased by her son: Danilo C. Manapat, II. She is also survived by 4 brothers and 2 sisters, and many nieces and nephews in the Philippines.

Based on new CDC guidelines adopted by NYS, fully vaccinated individuals do not need to wear masks or be socially distanced, but unvaccinated individuals must continue to wear masks and be socially distanced in the funeral home.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 26th at Quigley-Sullivan Funeral Home, Inc., 337 Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 27th at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. Cremation will follow the Mass at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope, NY.
