June 23, 1961 – January 27, 2021
Town of Newburgh, NY

On Wednesday January 27, 2021 in Newburgh, NY the generous and loving soul of Rosa Jacqueline Madell (Jackie) left this world to enter through the gates of heaven. Jackie died at the age of 59 after courageously battling ALS for 4 years. Jackie is survived by her husband of 13 years Alan Madell; her daughter Annie(Carlos) Csoke and her sons Jorge ”Junior” Lee (Edna), Marcus Lee and John(Elizabeth) Pires; her granddaughters Tiffany (Felix) Taveras, Cynthia Mariah Csoke, Cyrena Csoke, Cyara Csoke, Isabella Lee, Julia Pires and Elise Delgado; her grandson Jarreyn Lee; her sisters Nancy Melo and Milagros Vargas; her brothers Hector Melo, Richard Melo, Victor Javier; her nieces Bianca and Melanie Gonzalez, Karina and Gisselle Vargas, Glenny Javier and Cristina Aguirre; her nephews Victor Manuel Javier, Daniel B. Melo and Luis Gonzalez; her great-granddaughters Kassidy and Katalina; her great-grandsons Kaiden and Kenny; her aunts Iris and Daisy Melo; her uncle William Melo and many great-nieces and great-nephews and extended family.

Jackie was born on June 23, 1961 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to Felicia and Hector Melo. She loved her family beyond all measure and dedicated her whole life to them. Her passing will leave a space that can never be filled in their lives even though she will always be with them. She had a generous heart that knew no bounds and she helped as many people as she could throughout her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and her favorite name for herself was Nana. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she loved buying gifts and inviting Santa Claus to distribute them. She thrived on making people smile and her own smile was contagious. Jackie lit up the room with it when she entered. She was incredibly talented and designed and made beautiful wedding dresses for all the Barbie dolls in her collection. She was a “Jackie” of all trades who loved decorating her home even to the making of curtains and pillows to compliment the painting she did. Photography was another of Jackie’s loves, and so much of her work has captured the history of our family. In addition to being a fantastic cook who made magic in the kitchen, Jackie was a very spiritual person and her faith in God was shared with many. She worked in nursing and was loved by her patients because of her gentle and caring attitude towards them. She will deeply be missed by family and friends and all who knew her.
