I remember Orville since the 7th grade in New Windsor School. He sat near the rear of the class, and during the cold months he always wore a sweater in blue and whilte with a polar bear n the front. It was the principal., John V Lahey who assembled our 8th grade class out on the recreational field. He said "Orville, you pitch and Bernie you try catching." (Bernard Stortecky). Well, things were just right since thru high school Mike and Bernie were pitcher and catcher on different baseball teams.

I remember going to their house at that time. They lived near St Francis Grove. I recall talking briefly to his mother for some reason. Hisi father drove a truck and very often he would stop at Sal Ditrocchio's store near Calvary cemetery and play the pinball machines before going home.

I visited New Windsor about 10 years ago. I went to his house. His wife, who was trimming flowers in the front of the house brought me into their house. Mike, who was laying on the couch sat next to me and we talked of old times.
