Obituary for Michael G. Donnelly

Michael G. Donnelly, of Cornwall, NY entered into eternal rest on September 13, 2023 at his home in Cornwall. He was 67 years old.

The son of Robert J. Donnelly and the late Mary Gaye Montour, Michael was born on March 28, 1956 in Brooklyn, NY.

Michael wore many hats in his career, which included management & sales positions for several different retailers.

Michael was an avid Mets, Cowboys and Knicks fan, fandom that he came to share with his children. He was a great cook and loved to share his famous sauce and lasagna with all family and friends. He was incredibly hardworking, sometimes working multiple jobs at the same time. He was a giant when it came to taking care of and supporting those he loved. He valued time and conversation with his family and friends.

A family statement reads: “While we are all devastated with this loss, we are grateful to have had him as long as we could. The outreach and support have been tremendous. He will be greatly missed.”

In addition to his father and step-mother: Maryanne Donnelly, Michael is survived by his wife: Marilyn (Horton) Donnelly of Middletown, NY; his daughters: Vanessa J. Donnelly of Walnut, IA and Regina E. Donnelly of Middletown, NY; his son: Michael G. Donnelly II and his wife Tiffany of New Windsor, NY; his siblings: Robert B. Donnelly, James Terelle, Robert “Butch” Connors, Dawn Gage, Anne Margaret Techanchuk, John Donnelly; and his beloved Aunt: Frances Bonnie Montour. He was predeceased by his sisters: Victoria Donnelly and Pamela Terelle.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 17th and 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, September 18th at Quigley-Sullivan Funeral Home, Inc., 337 Hudson Street Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. A Chapel Service will be held at 5:45 p.m. on Monday, September 18th at the funeral home. Cremation will take place at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery in Poughkeepsie, NY.
