MAUREEN A. TERWILLIGER
August 23, 1961 – May 4, 2018
Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY

Maureen A. Terwilliger, of Cornwall-On-Hudson entered into eternal rest surrounded by her loving family on May 4, 2018 at home. She was 56 years old.

The daughter of Ursula A. Slattery, Maureen was born on August 23, 1961 in West Islip, NY.

In addition to her beloved mother, Maureen leaves behind her devoted husband of 33 years: David C. Terwilliger; her two loving sons: Robert and Matthew; brother: John Slattery and wife Linda; sister: Kathleen Powles and husband Steve; brother Vincent Slattery; and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Maureen was awarded her Bachelor’s Degree from Mount St. Mary College, Newburgh, NY in 1983. She was a Salesperson, Small Business Owner, and most importantly a loving wife and devoted mother. She was a woman of faith, hope and determination who cared deeply about Church and community. She volunteered and often took leadership roles with numerous organizations, most notably The Church of St. Mary, Bishop Dunn Memorial School, the Cornwall Public Library, Boy Scouts of America and Hospice.

A family statement says: We are thankful for the wonderful care and support Maureen received from her many friends, physicians and caregivers, most notably Dr. Umangi Patel and her staff. Maureen truly felt you each were a gift whom she loved and deeply cherished.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, May 7th at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St. Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8th at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY; Rev. William Scafidi will officiate. Interment will follow the Mass at St. Thomas Cemetery, Cornwall, NY.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in Maureen’s name may be made to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
