JOHN C. FURMAN

John C. Furman, of Walden, NY entered into eternal rest on December 11, 2021 at The Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, Newburgh, NY. He was 90 years old.

The son of the late Lloyd W. Furman, Sr. and Bessie L. (Callender) Furman, John was born on October 15, 1931 in Middletown, NY.

John was a retired Mechanic and Driver for Worrad Construction in Cornwall, NY for many years. He honorably and proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

John was a member of the Masonic Hoffman Lodge 412 in Middletown, NY and a 32° Mason with the Valley of Albany Scottish Rite in Albany, NY. He was a Life Member of Disabled American Veterans in New Windsor, NY and a Member of American Legion Post 1796 in New Windsor, NY.

John was predeceased by his wife Louise A. Shepard. He is survived by his daughters: Nancy A. Itzla of Middletown, NY, Linda Harahan of Middletown, NY, Marcy Furman of Brewster, NY and Lisa Diggle of Walden, NY; his sons: John A. Furman of Newburgh, NY and Greg A. Furman of Wallkill, NY; his step-children: John H. Cowan, Richard Cowan, and Chuck Cowan; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. John was predeceased by his brothers: Alfred Furman and Lloyd W. Furman, Jr.; and his step-children: Diane Jones, Frank Cowan, David Cowan, and Kevin Cowan.

Due to the public health concerns of the Corona Virus (Covid-19), memorial services for John will be private. On behalf of the family, thank you for your understanding and support during this difficult time.
