Obituary for Flora L. LeMay (Talarico)

FLORA L. LeMAY
May 15, 1927 – November 19, 2021
Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY

Flora L. LeMay, of Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY entered into eternal rest on November 19, 2021 at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh, NY. She was 94 years old.

The daughter of the late Dominick Talarico and Angelina (Elia) Talarico, Flora was born on May 15, 1927 in Cold Spring, NY.

Flora was a retired Administrative Assistant for USMA at West Point, West Point, NY.

She was an active member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) and the Catholic Daughters of America, Court Rita, St. Thomas of Canterbury Church.

A family statement reads: Mom was an avid cook, baker and delighted in a great meal! She was a loving wife to her husband continuing long after his early death, and up until her own. She was a selfless and devoted mother to her daughter Carol, and later, to her “son” Chris. Mom loved life. Simply, she loved. And everyone who was blessed to have known her, loved her as well. It was impossible not to. She had the rare quality to touch those around her, and leave an indelible footprint on their hearts. Flora lost her sight years ago to a disease called Retinitis Pigmentosa, but never lost her ability to “see”, well beyond the surface, and into the deeper, truer dimension of what is most important in the world, God’s gift of humanity. Flora will be sorely and deeply missed, but her beautiful memory will live forever.

In addition to her parents, Flora was predeceased by her loving husband: James H. LeMay. She is survived by her devoted daughter: Carol L. Miller and her husband Chris of Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. Flora was also predeceased by her sisters: Mary Hearney, Helen Carufe, and Genevieve Talarico; and by her brothers: Anthony, Dominick (Mickey) and Joseph Talarico.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 3rd at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. Interment will follow the Mass at St. Thomas Cemetery, Cornwall, NY.
