Emily A. Wright, of Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY entered into eternal rest on March 4, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 85 years old.
The daughter of the late William Vacek and Mary (Sucha) Vacek, Emily was born on August 24, 1937 in New York City, NY.
Emily was retired from USMA – West Point where she worked as a Computer Specialist Supervisor for many years.
Emily was blessed with a wonderful husband. She enjoyed raising her family and traveling. Emily was an avid craftsperson who loved making items for family and friends. She was fortunate to be surrounded by many high school and work friends throughout her years, and all had a very special place in her heart. She was especially proud of her grandchildren, enjoyed making them dinner and spending time with them. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Emily was predeceased by her loving husband: Jack B. Wright in 2006. She is survived by her daughter: Nanette Wright (Pam) of Wallkill, NY; her sons: Jeffrey B. Wright (Susan) of Vinton, VA and Kenneth W. Wright of Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY; 6 grandchildren: Jeffrey, Jr., Jocelyn (Alex), Christian (Laura), Joseph, Matthew (Rae) and Rachel; 4 great grandchildren: Ryder, Trent, Audrey and Kristian; several nieces and nephews, especially: Laura (John), Stephen (Marla) Fine. In addition to her husband, Emily was predeceased by her brother: William Vacek; and by her nephews: Birdie and Richie Vacek.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8th at Quigley-Sullivan Funeral Home, Inc., 337 Hudson Street Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. A Chapel Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 9th at the funeral home. Interment will follow the Service at Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor, NY.
