Emily C. Ford of Cornwall passed away on December 4, 2021, with her family at her side, at MSLC Hospital in Newburgh NY. She was 76 years of age.
The daughter of Lawrence and Bridget (Murray) LaPierre, Emily was born on November 25, 1945 in Brooklyn NY, where she later attended Midwood H.S. In 1974 Emily and her family moved to Cornwall, NY, where Emily was employed as a housing clerk for the USMA West Point before retiring. An avid NY Met and Islander fan, her home was, for forty-seven years, filled with pets of all kinds, both strays and adopted.
Emily was the earth, the moon and the stars to her loving family. Her love, support and friendship simply cannot be replaced and will be missed every day of our lives. Sleep gently, our sweet love.
Emily is survived by her heartbroken husband: William at home; her daughter: Bridget E. (Ford) Key and her husband Christopher of Lodi, NJ; and her sister: Patricia E. Evans of Colorado Springs, CO. Also, her friend Sabina and Emily's beloved felines Molly and Marcus. Emily was predeceased by her parents, and brother: Lawrence F. LaPierre.
Per Emily's wishes, there will be a cremation with no services. Donations in Emily's name can be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 500 Chicago Illinois 60611 or to the Hudson Valley SPCA, 940 Little Britain Road, New Windsor, NY 12553.
