Edward T. Lewis, of Cornwall, NY entered into eternal rest on July 28, 2022 at Westchester Medical Center, Mount Pleasant, NY. He was 71 years old.

The son of the late James Lewis and Rose (Natale) Lewis, Edward was born on April 11, 1951 in Suffern, NY.

Edward was an Electrician with IBEW Local 363 in Harriman, NY until his retirement but still stayed involved by teaching instrumentation classes at the IBEW Harriman training center.

He was an active member of the Orange County Antique Auto Club, Dodge Brothers Antique Automobile Club, a volunteer Fireman for the Haverstraw Fire Department, IBEW Local 363 Retirees Group and a parishioner of St. Thomas of Canterbury Church. He was a master craftsman and loved all aspects of building.

A family statement reads: “he enjoyed working on his model railroad and antique cars. He had a passion for model trains, antique cars and antiquing. He could be found at most local car shows and flea markets. He loved to travel to all parts of the world, photography and birds. He was the life of the party and always came away with a new friend. His hugs were legendary. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. His greatest love of all is his granddaughters Hailey and Claire, who were the light of his life. He loved to spend time at his son’s family farm with his favorite cow Tilly and his grand dogs Lacey and Bandit. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him.

Edward is survived by his beloved wife: Mary A. (Pipitone) Lewis at home; his son: David E. Lewis and his wife Mary of Bloomingburg, NY and his grandchildren: Hailey and Claire; and his brothers: Joseph Lewis and his wife Gayle of Longs, SC and James Lewis and his wife Diana of DE. In addition to his parents, Edward was predeceased by his brother: Gregory Lewis.

Based on new CDC guidelines adopted by NYS, fully vaccinated individuals do not need to wear masks or be socially distanced, but unvaccinated individuals must continue to wear masks and be socially distanced in the funeral home.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 1st at Quigley-Sullivan Funeral Home, Inc., 337 Hudson Street Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 2nd at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. Interment will follow the Mass at Cemetery of the Highlands, Highland Mills, NY.
