Obituary for Dinah F. Terrizzi

DINAH F. TERRIZZI
September 15, 1964 – February 12, 2022
Cornwall, NY

Dinah F. Terrizzi, of Cornwall, NY entered into eternal rest on February 12, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was 57 years old.

The daughter of the late Silvestre Balag Flores and Pilar Gutierrez Pintor, Dinah was born on September 15, 1964 in Lavezares, Northern Samar, Philippines. She attended the University of Eastern Philippines, where in 1985 she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry. In September 1989, Dinah immigrated to the United States. She lived in New York City until settling down in Cornwall, NY.

Dinah worked at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital for 18 years and later with the New York City Transit Authority for over 5 years.

She was an active member of the Newburgh Seventh Day Adventist church.

Dinah was a deeply caring individual who made everybody around her feel unconditionally loved. She possessed a warmth that put her family, friends, and co-workers at ease. Although oceans away, Dinah always found ways to support her family members in the Philippines. Any space that she entered was lit up by her beautiful smile, her joyful laughter, and her lighthearted disposition. Her passions included gardening, cooking, reading, and singing. Dinah was also a hard worker; she cared relentlessly for her patients as a nursing assistant, and she always strived to learn new skillsets. Eventually, Dinah ended up working as an MTA cleaner in the Bronx. She loved her job and the sense of community it gave her.

She touched so many lives and will be missed tremendously.

Dinah is survived by her husband of 30 years: Martin A. Terrizzi at home; her daughter: Kim D. Terrizzi of Durham, NC; her sons: Dean M. Terrizzi and Shane D. Terrizzi of Cornwall, NY; and her siblings: Arthur Flores and Raquel Lariosa of Lavezares, Northern Samar, Philippines. They will always love Dinah and cherish their time spent with her for the rest of their lives.
