Catherine Helena Gaynor, of Salisbury Mills, NY entered into eternal rest on August 21, 2022 at Putnam Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Holmes, NY. She was 100 years old.

The daughter of the late Paul J. Morich and Anna C. (Hanlon) Morich, Catherine was born on September 6, 1921 in Bronx, NY.

Catherine was a retired Sales Associate for the Lloyd’s Department Store in Newburgh, NY. She also worked for Highland Telephone Company, Miron Lumber & Hardware Store and Edgar’s Clothing Store over the course of her career.

Catherine belonged to several dance troupes, including tap dancing. She taught Religious Education at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, where she attended Mass regularly. Mom was an animal lover, avid bird watcher and gardener. She loved to restore old furniture. But most of all, she was a support system for her children and a devoted wife. She was an excellent cook and baker. She was always a generous neighbor and also extremely patriotic. She will be missed beyond words.

In addition to her parents, Catherine was predeceased by her loving husband: Charles H. Gaynor. She is survived by her devoted son: Paul M. Burris at home and Dennis J. Burris of Wallkill, NY; her daughter: Anne K. Burris of Arizona; her 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild. Catherine was also predeceased by her sisters: Madeline Raymond and Lillian Gogarty; and by her brother: Joseph Wundrack.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 on Friday, August 26th at Quigley-Sullivan Funeral Home, Inc., 337 Hudson Street Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 27th at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. will follow the Mass at St. Thomas Cemetery, Cornwall, NY.
