Joan Shaw Hulse, a former longtime resident of Cornwall, NY entered into eternal rest on May 22, 2019 at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Montgomery, NY. She was 90 years old.
The daughter of the late Harold Woodruff and Laura (Hasbrouck) Woodruff, Joan was born on September 17, 1928 in Newburgh, NY.
Joan was a retired Bookkeeper for Hey’s Appliance’s in Cornwall, NY for many years. She was an active member of St John’s Episcopal Church of Cornwall, NY, serving on the Vestry and Altar Guild for many years.
A family statement reads: “Joan was a resident and member of the Cornwall community for 70 years. She will be missed greatly”.
In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by her loving husband, Harold F. Hulse, in 2008. Joan is survived by her son: Brian H. Hulse of Bridgeport, CT; her daughter: Janith Thompson of Mount Holly, NC; 4 grandchildren: Kevin, Kelly, Colleen and Kyle Thompson; and seven great grandchildren.
A funeral Service and Inurnment will take place on Saturday, June 8th at 4:30 p.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church Columbarium, 66 Clinton Street, Cornwall, NY.
