Virginia Rose Taxter, of Cornwall, NY joined her loved ones in heaven on July 17, 2018 at her home. She was 94 years old.

The daughter of the late Joseph B. Connick and Ella E. (Foxwell) Connick, Virginia was born on December 26, 1923 in Tarrytown, NY. Virginia was predeceased by her loving husband, Paul A. Taxter, Jr. of Irvington, NY.

Virginia (also Gine or Ginny) was a devoted daughter, sister, cousin, friend, wife, and most importantly, mother and “Nanny.” She was deeply committed to her faith and her family, and her happiest times were spent caring (and cooking) for those she loved. She was an avid reader, lover of nature, and appreciated a good conversation (as long as you agreed with her LOL!). She lived in Irvington NY, Stroudsberg, Pennsylvania; Houston, Texas; Yokahama, Japan, and Cornwall, NY. She enjoyed extensive travel within the U.S., and also Canada, Mexico, Ireland, Japan, the Bahamas, and Heaven.

Virginia is survived by her sons: Paul A. Taxter, III, John J. Taxter, Mark S. Taxter and Thomas A. Taxter; her daughters: Virginia E. Taxter and Anne M. (Taxter) Click; Fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; her brothers: Robert J. Connick and Richard F. Connick; her sister: Shirley A. Horvath. In addition to her parents and husband, Virginia was predeceased by her brother: Wayne Connick.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, July 20th at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St. Cornwall-On-Hudson NY. Following visitation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3 p.m. at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY.

The family requests NO flowers and that Memorial Contributions be made in her Virginia’s name to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, Inc., 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
