Elephant memory
I attended NYMA 1980-1982 in the class of 1983. Colonel Dobias wasn't my Tac officer. I saluted him when I saw him, as a good cadet did. He smiled and saluted back. I didn't think he knew my name. Fast forward to 2002. I was at the Thayer Hotel the same day the NYMA reunion was being held. I went in eager to see who was there. He approached me and said, "Hello Liz, how are you?!" He made me feel so special. He not only knew who I was in 1982, he still remembered my name 20years later! He was an institution. He was NYMA.
