Andrew Sackmann, of Cornwall, NY died on October 2, 2022 in Newburgh, NY after a valiant fight against a cruel mental illness. He was 23 years old.
The youngest son of Timothy Noel and Marianna (Meyer) Sackmann, Andrew was born on May 12, 1999 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, NY.
In addition to his parents, Andrew is survived by his siblings: Emily, Dylan and Tess Sackmann; and his Oma: Elisabeth Meyer.
Andrew received his Associates degree in Liberal Arts at OCCC and was pursuing a combined Masters in Business and Healthcare Administration at Mount St. Mary College in Newburgh, NY.
Andrew was a sweet and gentle giant who treated all he knew with kindness. He loved animals and volunteered to play with dogs at the local shelter. Andrew loved spending time with family and friends. He recently became pretty good at disc golf. He loved music, and sharing a meal, taking a walk or appreciating a lightning storm. It was his hope that every single person in the world could go to heaven.
Andrew will be truly missed by all lucky enough to really know him.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, October 7th at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel at Mount St. Mary College, 330 Powell Avenue, Newburgh, NY.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 8th at Quigley-Sullivan Funeral Home, Inc., 337 Hudson Street Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY.
