Agnes B. Wheeler, a former Cornwall, NY resident, entered into eternal rest on January 6, 2023 at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh, NY. She was 95 years old.

The daughter of the late Franz and Eva Gruber, Agnes was born on December 25, 1927 in Nurnberg, Germany. She was a Member of St. Thomas of Canterbury Parish since her arrival in Cornwall in 1965 and pledged support in the building of the new church.

Agnes was a kind and generous woman who lived a simple life. She loved knitting and sewing. Her greatest riches in life involved spending time with her family. Her long life blessed her with grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will always remember and cherish the memories spent with their “Oma”. She missed her loving husband George for 27 years and now they are together. She will be forever in our hearts.

In addition to her parents, Agnes was predeceased by her loving husband: George L. Wheeler. She is survived by her daughter: Susanna M. (Wheeler) Offerman and her husband Wayne of Washingtonville, NY; her son: Ronald Wheeler and his wife Penney of Rockport, TX; her grandchildren: Kelly and Christopher Offerman; and 3 great grandchildren: Olivia, James and Hailey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 12th at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. Interment will follow the Mass at St. Thomas Cemetery, Cornwall, NY
